Join the Green Revolution: Tring and Berkhamsted's Great Big Green Week 2025

From June 7th to 15th, 2025, Tring and Berkhamsted will unite for the UK's largest celebration of community action on climate change and nature protection—Great Big Green Week (GBGW). This national campaign, organized by The Climate Coalition, aims to inspire a million people across the UK to participate in a wave of activities promoting environmental sustainability.

Locally, Sustainable Tring, Eco Berko, and the town councils are coordinating a diverse program of events designed to engage the community in sustainable practices. Highlights include:

Berkhamsted Eco Fair: Kick off the week on Saturday June 7th, from 10:00am to 2:30pm at the Berkhamsted Civic Centre. Explore eco-friendly products, learn about sustainable living, and connect with local green initiatives.

Green Cleaning Eco Event: On Tuesday June 10th, at 7:30 PM, attend a workshop in Tring focused on environmentally friendly cleaning practices. Discover natural alternatives to conventional cleaning products. 

Toy Swap: Bring unwanted toys to Tring Baptist Church on the High Street from 9:30 to 11:30am on Wednesday June 11th

Tring Farmers Market: A special farmers market this week from 10am on Saturday June 14th in Church Square, Tring. Come and choose from a range of local produce and crafts.

Sustainable Home Energy Talk: Conclude the week on Sunday June 15th, from 3:00pm at Wigginton Village Hall. Learn about energy-efficient home improvements and renewable energy options. 

This year's GBGW theme, "Let's Swap Together for Good," encourages individuals and communities to make sustainable swaps in their daily lives—be it exchanging items, skills, or habits—to foster a greener future. Whether you're a seasoned environmentalist or new to sustainable living, there's an event for you.
